How long will my session be? Family sessions typically last around an hour. I allow 2-3 hours for in-home newborn sessions.

When do you do newborn sessions? The timing is a little more flexible since I don’t pose baby. Ideally sessions take place around 2-3 weeks when baby is still very sleepy, small and ok with being swaddled up tight. I have done older newborns (3-5 weeks), but they are typically a little more alert and can kick out of the swaddle more easily. There is never a wrong time to take beautiful photos of your baby. I’ve photographed babies up to 2 months old at ‘newborn’ sessions.

What should I wear? The short answer is whatever makes you comfortable! I advise against bright colors, all white, and anything too matchy-matchy. It’s best to coordinate 2-3 colors for everyone and use neutrals to tie it all together. I’ll send more info in your client portal after booking.

Do I get the digital files from my photo session? Yes! My sessions include a minimum number of digital files for download with a print release.

When will I get to see my photos? Images from your session are typically available within 2-3 weeks of your session.

How can I order prints and products from you? I’m glad you asked! I’m so happy to now offer professional printing! Prints and products can be purchased directly from your online gallery after you receive your photos. I handle everything and deliver your final products to you!

Do you offer mini sessions? Mini sessions may be offered seasonally during specially advertised events. Email subscribers get first chance to book when sessions open, as well as the first look at news, blog posts and and open session dates. How does payment work? I accept credit cards, cash, or checks made payable to Sarah Rowland Photography. I require a $50 non-refundable initial payment to finalize your booking, reserve your date and get you on my calendar. This will be applied to your final invoice. Final payment is due on or before your session date. Images will not be released until payment is complete.

This all sounds great, but what if I need to reschedule? The initial $50 non-refundable payment may be transferred to an alternate date within 60 days of your original session, provided that your request to reschedule is made at least 10 days prior to the original session date. Cancellations outside this time frame will forfeit the non-refundable payment.

What if the weather is bad? Sessions may be rescheduled due to weather at the discretion of the photographer. The initial $50 payment will be transferred to a future date or may be returned if an alternate date cannot be agreed upon.
