COVID-19 Update
Whew. The last few months have been… something. I sincerely hope you are staying healthy and happy at home with your families as we all do our part to help stop the spread of COVID-19. I miss you, and I hope you are your loved ones are well.
As there has been more news of states making plans to reopen, I am beginning to prepare for when more businesses are allowed to safely operate again. I can’t wait to serve you again and I want to share my plans for how we will operate when we can meet for sessions again.
What will sessions look like now?
With the exception of in-home newborn sessions, my portraits take place outside. That’s good news because we don’t need to work in a closed space, and I don’t need to be close to you to do my job. I won’t give handshakes or hug you hello, but please know I am thrilled to see you!
There are a few things I can do to help conduct your session safely while maintaining appropriate social distancing measures.
I can use different lenses on my camera that allow me to work farther away from you to ensure that we maintain a distance of at least 6-10 feet between me and your family.
I will wear a mask if it continues to be recommended.
And of course, I will sanitize my hands and wipe down my equipment before and after your session.
In case of illness
With all the uncertainty, flexibility continues to be very important. If I, or anyone in my family, is feeling the slightest bit ill, I will immediately reschedule your session or waive your session retainer if another date cannot be agreed upon. Likewise, if you or anyone in your family is feeling ill, please call me to cancel. You do not need to worry about your retainer, I will reschedule you or refund your initial payment.
So now what?
Did you know I am trained as a research scientist? I’ve been out of the lab for a while, but my graduate degree is in Immunology. I tell you that because I want you to know that I take the situation we all find ourselves in very seriously. Like you, I’ve been watching news of the pandemic unfold for months, and from a scientific perspective it has been both fascinating and troubling to see. I am very conscious of doing whatever I can to keep everyone healthy. I will only take sessions if I feel I can conduct them safely and according to the recommended safety precautions from the scientific community and government agencies.
As of this post, the stay-at-home order for St. Louis County has been extended through at least May 15. I am operating as though photographers will be allowed to work by mid or end of May. Whenever it is ok to operate again, I’ll be here to photograph your most important people.
Thank you for your trust and your cooperation. Stay well. Be kind. Take care of one another.
I can’t wait to see you again!
